Incredible Story of Mountaineer Twin Sisters, Tashi and Nungshi Malik

Life is too short for hard packs ! Proven by twin sisters Tashi and Nungshi Malik who series of records in their name. Their love for mountain and passion to climb each  and every mountain is eternal and dynamic.

Dehradun’s twin sisters Tashi & Nungshi Malik have created history again and again in a field full of life threatening dangers.

Twin Sisters Tashi & Nungshi Malik are originally from Haryana now residing Dehradun have scaled some of the highest mountain peaks in world and in the process of have created series of records. They were born to a retired Indian Army officer Col Virendra Singh Malik, who originally hails from Village Anwali, Sonepat District of Haryana.

In 2013, they created history by climbing Mount Everest, became the first twins ever to conquer Everest. In June, 2014 they conquered Mt McKinley, Highest Mountain Peak in North America and recently they created another history by climbing seven tallest peaks in seven continents.

The Malik sisters had begun their joint expedition in 2012 in pursuit of climbing peaks in seven continents,  they successfully reached the top of Mt Kilimanjaro (Africa), Mt Everest (Asia), Mt Elbrus (Europe), Mt Aconcagua (South America), Mt Carstensz Pyramid (Oceania), Mt McKinley (North America) and finally Mt Vinson Massif (Antarctica).

The climb of the seven mountains also gave them entry into Guinness Book of World Records.

Their new mission is to complete “Explorer Grand Slam”, skiing to the North and South poles. The twin sisters also disclosed their new motto: “Beyond the heights, till the end of the World” / “Unchaiyon Se Aage-Duniya Ki Haddon Tak”. They have planned to make a foundation which will work for the empowerment of girls and motivate them to make a career in mountaineering.

With generous sponsorship from Mahindra group and backed by Livguard, they will embark on the ‘Last degree ski to South pole’, covering a distance of 120 km from an 89-degree parallel they stated in an interview with DNA.

This is an extremely encouraging story setting a path of leadership, sends a strong message to large section of society, no feat is impossible if you with determination and will. Off course, being women has no limitation. They have conquered feat where even men dare to go.

While its not about setting a context between men and women capability but it does sends out a strong message, they have inspired many across the nation and world.
