India is Ranked Third in Global List of Rich 2015
Outrageously true, we are filthy rich people. India is home to approx 5% of billionaires of the world, a new research finds. The stats further suggests, in the global list dominated by America and China, India is up by 27, breaks into top 3 for the first time.
Quite interesting to know, 56% of new billionaires reside in Asia. Asia is drawing away from North America with 191 new billionaires to take it to 943 individuals, followed by North America with 589 billionaires and Europe 401.
India leapfrogged Russia and the UK to third place with 97 billionaires, 27 more than 2014. Manufacturing, Pharma and TMT are the preferred sectors with 23, 14 and 12 billionaires respectively. Combined wealth of the Indian billionaires comes to US$266bn. Mukesh Ambani (US$20bn, rank 41) is the richest Indian.
Bill Gates, Carlos Slim Helu & family and Warren Buffet continue to be the top 3 richest individuals in world.
